Florida Massage License #MA102442 Q&A with Tom: Where did you go to massage school? I attended the Lexington Healing Arts Academy in Lexington, Kentucky, where I'm originally from. My training was very holistic and balanced, focusing on relaxation massage as well as therapeutic massage for pain relief. What inspired you to become a massage therapist? My interest in massage started during a period of time when I was going through a lot of pain. I researched ways to help and came across massage therapy, so I booked my first massage. After that I realized I wanted to learn massage therapy to help other people the way I was helped. Where did you work before The Wellness Hub? I've worked in spa settings and athletic settings. My longest location since becoming a therapist was a yoga studio where I got to work with a lot of athletes and yogis, which was really fun. My work with focused on therapeutic massage to help heal injuries and chronic pain. What do you like to do in your free time? In my free time I love to surf, practice yoga, lift weights, and hang out with my wife. What are the Benefits of Regular Massage Therapy? Some may say massage therapy is a luxury. However, we believe that in today's world of excessive sitting, prolonged screen time and the 24 hour news-cycle (can you say stress?!), we feel it's a necessity. Making massage therapy a regular part of your health and wellness routine will make you feel more centered and calm, which means you can show up for the people in your life more.
