Craniosacral Therapy in Jacksonville, Florida
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle hands-on technique that uses a light touch to adjust the movement of the fluids in and around the central nervous system.
Relieving tension in the central nervous system promotes a feeling of well-being by eliminating pain and boosting health and immunity. CST releases tensions deep in the body to alleviate pain and dysfunction, and improve whole-body health and performance.
Some conditions Craniosacral Therapy can improve:
Migraines and headaches
Chronic neck and back pain
Stress and tension-related disorders
Spinal cord injuries
Motor-Coordination Impairments
Post-concussion syndrome
Chronic fatigue
Chronic pain and fibromyalgia
TMJ syndrome
Orthopedic Problems
PTSD, mental and emotional imbalances like anxiety and depression
Scoliosis
and more...
How can Craniosacral Therapy help SO MANY things?
You may be suprised to learn that Craniosacral Therapy helps so many diverse conditions. Few body structures have more influence over your health and wellbeing than your central nervous system (CNS). And few body systems have more impact on your CNS than the craniosacral system--the soft tissues and fluid that protect your brain and spinal cord.
As you go through life you endure stresses and strain and your body and nervous system absorbs them. However, your body can only handle so much tension before the tissues begin to tighten and potentially affect the brain and spinal cord. Unfortunately, this can compromise the function of other body systems, resulting in ill health and imbalances.
By freeing the CNS to perform at its best, Craniosacral Therapy has been shown to naturally reduce pain and stress, strengthen your resistance to disease and enhance your health and wellbeing.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a session like?
During your session you will remain clothed and lay face up on a massage table in a quiet, comfortable private room in or wellness center. The therapist will begin to use a light touch to monitor the flow of the fluid flowing in your central nervous system. Using gentle manipulations, the therapist will work to improve and correct areas of weakness or impairments in this flow of fluid. You may feel sensations of warmth, tingling or gentle pulsing in the areas the therapist is working on, but every person is very individual in what they feel.
How many sessions will I need?
A series of treatments is recommended for best results. Craniosacral Therapy is a cumulative process and is similar to other modalities like chiropractic, physical therapy or acupuncture where a series of treatments is required. Your therapist will make specific recommendations for you, but generally, 1-2 times per week in the first 3-4 weeks is recommended, then you'll begin to space treatments out. The more severe or chronic your case is, the more treatments you will need.
When will I get relief?
Some clients will feel positive shifts and changes after their very first appointment! As your progress through your Craniosacral Therapy treatment plan, the positive results will grow. For some, if their condition is more severe or chronic, it may take a little longer to feel better, however, as you improve the health of your nervous system, you will start to see positive changes and obtain relief.
What ages can receive this service?
Our therapist will see adults of all ages and children aged 10 and up.
What is the Cost?
$113 for the initial session, which is an hour and a half visit, $75 for follow up visits (1 hour)
