What is International Self-Care Day?
International Self-Care Day is an annual observance held on July 24th. It serves as a reminder of the importance of self-care practices in promoting overall health and well-being. The day encourages individuals to take proactive steps in caring for themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally. International Self-Care Day highlights that self-care is not just about occasional treats or indulgences but is an ongoing commitment to taking care of oneself in all aspects of life. It empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their health and lifestyle and encourages them to seek out resources and support for their self-care journey. What is Self-Care? Self-care refers to the practice of taking deliberate actions to maintain and improve one's physical, mental, spiritual and emotional well-being. It involves engaging in activities and behaviors that promote health, relaxation, and overall balance in one's life. Self-care is essential for managing stress, preventing burnout, and fostering a positive relationship with oneself. Self-care can take various forms and may include both small, daily practices and more significant, occasional activities. Some common examples of self-care practices include:
Remember that self-care is a personalized concept, and what works for one person may not be the same for another. It's essential to identify the self-care practices that resonate with you and integrate them into your daily routine to maintain a healthy and balanced life. Self-care is not selfish; it's a crucial aspect of overall well-being that allows you to be more resilient and better equipped to handle life's challenges. Meet Our New Massage Therapist at Our Jacksonville, FL Wellness Center - Introducing Dane!7/18/2023 🤩Meet our new massage therapist - Dane🤩
Dane has openings available starting this week - Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Schedule now! From a young age, Dane has always been fascinated by how things operate and function. After working as a mechanical engineer for five years, Dane decided he was less interested in engineering and more fascinated with the human body and how to help people heal. Following his heart to a career in service to others, Dane enrolled in massage therapy school and never looked back! Today, as a graduate of Alpha School of Massage here in Jacksonville, Dane enjoys performing relaxation techniques, deep tissue work, trigger point therapy, hot stones and sports massage to help his clients find tranquility and relief. He also loves to make his own aromatherapy blends to enhance his massage sessions. Applying his engineering brain to the structure of the body and his passion for helping people be and feel their best, Dane truly has found his calling in the art of massage. License #MA103114 Reviews: Before we bring on a new massage therapist, we always have some of our clients test them out during the interview process to make sure they are up to our high standards at The Wellness Hub. Here is what they had to say about their massage session with Dane: "It was an awesome massage, a wonderful full-body experience. It didn't take me long to relax and I especially loved the facial and foot massage. It was a deep tissue massage and very relaxing at the same time." --- "I went into the massage with back pain after injuring my foot and walking around crooked for a week. Dane did a lot of deep tissue work on my low back, upper back and shoulders. I felt so much better afterward and could stand up straight!" --- "This was a fantastic massage! I see a few different massage therapists at The Wellness Hub regularly, and I am going to put him into my rotation!" ----------------- We are pleased to serve the following Florida communities with massage therapy, chiropractic, organic skincare, acupuncture, red light therapy and more: Jacksonville, Orange Park, Fleming Island, Mandarin, Jacksonville Beach, Nocatee, St Johns, Ponte Vedra and more. If you're like most people, you love a good bargain. If you're like most people, you also like to save on taxes.
Health Savings Accounts and Flex Spending Accounts allow you to "write off" qualified medical expenses and can help you to save money. Would you like to learn more? Read on! What are HSA & FSA Accounts? Flexible Spending Accounts Flexible Spending Account (FSA), often referred to as a "flex spending account" or "flexible spending arrangement," is an employer-sponsored benefit program that allows employees to set aside a portion of their pre-tax salary to pay for qualified out-of-pocket medical expenses. Some companies will also make contributions into your account each year, or designated period. Qualified Expenses: FSAs cover a wide range of eligible medical expenses, such as doctor's visits, prescription medications, dental and vision care, medical supplies, and certain over-the-counter items. Some plans may also include dependent care expenses, such as daycare or eldercare costs. However, the rules and eligible expenses can vary, so it's essential to review your specific FSA plan guidelines. Many FSA Plans have a "use it or lose it" clause, usually around the calendar year, but your employer may have a different time period. It's always best to check with your employer's human resources department or directly with the plan administrator to make sure you won't lose your funds. Health Savings Accounts A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-advantaged savings account available to people enrolled in a high-deductible insurance plan. HSAs are designed to help individuals and families save money specifically for qualified medical expenses. Contributions: You and/or your employer can make contributions to your HSA. The total contributions are subject to annual limits set by the IRS. Tax Advantages: HSAs offer several tax advantages. First, contributions made to an HSA are tax-deductible, which means they reduce your taxable income. Second, any interest or investment gains earned within the HSA account are tax-free. Finally, withdrawals used for qualified medical expenses are also tax-free. Just like an FSA plan, HSA plans can cover qualified medical services and products. Can HSA & FSA Accounts Be Used for Massage? Now what you really want to know: Can these accounts be used to pay for massage therapy services? The answer is almost always a resounding YES! We have a great number of clients at our clinic in Jacksonville, Florida who successfully use their health savings accounts (HSA) and flexible spending accounts (FSA) to pay for massage therapy. Depending on your plan, you may need a Letter of Medical Necessity from your primary care physician. Make sure to check with your plan for what they require. Some may require receipts with proof that the money was actually spent on massage - which we are happy to provide. The Health Benefits of Massage The great news is that there are numerous health and medical benefits from massage therapy. From physical pain relief to mental and emotional benefits to cardiovascular and immune health benefits - massage therapy is an essential part of your health and wellness plan. Make sure you're saving money on your massage therapy by taking advantage of HSA and FSA savings. Remember, it's best to double-check with your plan if they need any prior documentation from your doctor before booking your appointment. P.S. - Additional Covered Services We also offer acupuncture care and chiropractic care at our clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. These are also HSA and FSA eligible! --- We are pleased to serve the following Florida communities with massage therapy, chiropractic, organic skincare, acupuncture, red light therapy and more: Jacksonville, Orange Park, Fleming Island, Mandarin, Jacksonville Beach, Nocatee, St Johns, Ponte Vedra and more. |
